Tom McIntyre, Ph.D.

Dr. McIntyre is a professor of special education at Hunter College of the City University of New York. There he directs the graduate program that trains teachers to work effectively with students who display mental health and/or behavior disorders.

Author of four books and scores of articles, Tom has served as President of the International Teacher Educators of Children with Behavior Disorders and the New York State Council for Children with Behavior Disorders.  His humorous and informative BehaviorAdvisor.com, is the world’s most visited classroom management website.  Tom has presented sessions nationwide on the topic of childhood trauma.

Tom is active in his community, presenting informational sessions regarding the topic of childhood trauma and adverse childhood experiences, serving on the Advisory Board of the Ossining Parks and Recreation Department, and the Ossining public schools’ Committee on Social-Emotional Learning.
